Thank you to everyone who joined us on March 12th & 13th for our BEAP Symposium 2026 - Intersections: People, Place & Practice event at the Radisson Hotel Downtown Winnipeg. The Symposium brought together leaders and emerging practitioners across city-building professions to explore how equity, representation, and inclusive practices are shaping the future of our work—particularly within the Prairie context.

From a thought-provoking keynote - "Towards a Feminist City" with Leslie Kern, a lively panel discussion on shaping leadership, a hands-on mapping workshop designing equitable Prairie cities, lessons on what city-builders can learn from digital media, to our International Women's Day presentations on the Give to Gain theme, attendees explored real-world challenges, shared practical experiences, and exchanged ideas that will continue to influence our work moving forward. The energy carried throughout the 2-day Symposium—from packed sessions to informal networking moments—made for a truly dynamic and collaborative atmosphere.

A sincere thank you to our Symposium speakers, panelists, moderators, facilatators, presenters, and attendees for making the event so engaging.

We wish to extend a special thank you to our BEAP Symposium Subcommittee for their incredible effort, organization, and dedication in bringing this event to life.

Thank you to Elder Geraldine Shingoose and our Emcee, Dean Mimi Locher.
