Welcome Maisie Berens!

BEAP is thrilled to welcome Maisie Berens to the Executive Committee as the IDPSA Student Representative!


Learn more about Maisie:

Maisie Berens is an Anishinaabe woman and a member of the Berens River First Nation, located in Treaty 5 territory. She is currently entering her second year of the Master of Interior Design program at the University of Manitoba. Maisie is also beginning her third term as Co-President of the Indigenous Design and Planning Students Association. Some of her work includes advocating for Indigenous representation in architecture and design, which she supports by actively engaging with Indigenous youth and encouraging them to pursue careers in architecture and design. 

 
 

We acknowledge that we are meeting on original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Ojibwe-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples and on the homeland of the Red River Metis. BEAP is committed to ensuring that First Nations, Metis and Inuit knowledge, cultures and traditions are embraced and reflected in our programming.
